About Conference
Bhabha Atomic Research Centre (BARC), Mumbai decided to bring the faculty members of various Engineering Colleges together to solve the regional relevant problems under the guidance of eminent researchers from various reputed organizations. The first theme meeting in 2012 with all those eminent researchers helped to share their experiences of collaborative research and product development to explore the use of advanced technology in the service of rural India. The second theme meeting held at Walchand College of Engineering, Sangli was also encouraging through involvement of various faculty members of engineering colleges. The third, fourth and fifth theme meetings were held at Shri Vithal Education and Research Institute (SVERI), Pandharpur in the years 2014, 2015 and 2017 whereby more than 150 participants from Engineering Colleges all over Maharashtra participated. During these theme meetings, it was decided to involve the international community to exchange ideas on societal problems, through technology. Therefore, the first International Conference on Advanced Technologies for Societal Applications was organized on 20th and 21st December, 2016 and the second on 14th and 15th December 2018, the third conference on 14th and 15th December, 2020. followed by the fourth conference was organized on 09th and 10th December, 2022
This conference offers a multidisciplinary platform for researchers from a broad range of disciplines of Science, Engineering and Technology for reporting innovations at different levels. The key motivation for developing these technologies is to bring change into society. These technologies may be for the betterment of Differently Abled People, Environment, Livelihood, Rural Employment, Agricultural, Healthcare, Energy, Transportation, Sanitation, Water, Education, etc.

Shri Vithal Education and Research Institute (SVERI) is a charitable trust founded in Pandharpur, known as the 'South Kashi' of India. The institute has established the Rural Human Resource Development Facility (RHRDF) in collaboration with Bhabha Atomic Research Center (BARC), Mumbai, to deploy BARC technologies in rural areas. SVERI has also received grants from various organizations for empowering villagers and promoting innovation. Notably, the institute has received a research fund for a collaborative project on Drone Technology with IIT Mumbai and VJTI, Mumbai.
